Online Photoshop — Free Layer-Based Photo Editor in Your Browser
A free online photo editor built like Photoshop software: layers with blend modes, a full toolbox, selections, adjustments, filters, a history panel and keyboard shortcuts — all running locally in your browser. The result can be exported to an exact KB target (50 KB, 100 KB, 200 KB…) for portals that enforce file-size limits.
Files never leave your browser layer-based editing runs locally on your device — no upload, no account
What You Can Do
How It Works
- Open — drop a photo on the upload bar above (or click it to browse): the editor pops out into a fullscreen window. Inside, File → Open Image replaces the document and "Open as Layer" adds to your current project. Nothing is uploaded.
- Edit with layers — pick a tool from the left toolbox (move, select, crop, brush, eraser, paint bucket, eyedropper, text, shapes, zoom, hand). Each element lands on its own layer: reorder them, set blend modes and opacity, edit text layers again by clicking them. Adjustments preview live, filters bake in one click, and the History panel lets you jump back up to 40 steps.
- Export or continue later — File → Export saves JPG/PNG/WebP at your quality, or type a target like 100 KB and the binary-search exporter lands within ±2 KB. File → Save Project keeps every layer editable in a .p2kb file you can reopen anytime.
Editing + Exact-KB Compression, in One Place
The reason this editor lives on photo2kb: most application portals, exam forms and visa systems reject photos by file size, not by how they look. So after you crop, clean up and layer your edits here, the export dialog can hit the exact size the portal demands — 50 KB, 100 KB, 200 KB — measured by the same binary-search encoder as the homepage compressor. No second tool, no re-upload, no guessing.
FAQ
Is this a free online Photoshop?
It is a free browser-based photo editor with Photoshop-style software features: a full toolbox, layers with blend modes and opacity, selections, adjustments, filters, a history panel, keyboard shortcuts and project save/open. It is not Adobe Photoshop and not affiliated with Adobe — no download or account is needed.
Does it support layers like real Photoshop?
Yes. Every edit lives on its own layer: text layers stay editable, you can reorder, duplicate, hide, merge or flatten layers, change blend modes (Multiply, Screen, Overlay and 13 more) and set per-layer opacity. The Layers panel works like the desktop original.
Do my photos get uploaded to a server?
No. Every edit runs locally in your browser with Canvas APIs. You can disconnect from the internet after the page loads and keep editing.
Can I export the edited photo to an exact file size like 100 KB?
Yes. The exporter binary-searches JPEG/WebP quality (or image dimensions for PNG) until the file lands within about 2 KB of your target — the same algorithm photo2kb's compressor uses.
Can I save my work and continue later?
Yes. File → Save Project downloads a .p2kb file that keeps every layer, position and text editable. Reopen it later (File → Open Project, or drag it onto the page) and continue where you left off.
Which file formats can I open and save?
Open JPG, PNG and WebP (plus most formats your browser can decode). Save as JPG, PNG or WebP, either at a chosen quality level or at an exact KB target.
